a Growing Appetite!

Little Aislinn is 3 months old now. Her appetite's been steadily increasing to feed her growing body and she's been hungry almost constantly the last few days. I've noticed that she's added a little more fat to her cheeks and another roll or two on her legs. She's filling out quite nicely! With that, her activity and alertness has increased as well. She often watches tv with the kids and pays close attention to everything I do while I busy around the house doing my work and holding her. She throws a tantrum if the person holding her doesn't carry her around, occupying her interest with the things to do and see.
One of her new interests is watching us eat. When we sit down to enjoy our evening meal around the table, she'll stare at someone's plate and follow their fork from their plate to their mouth and back again. The other night she even caught hold of Matthew's plate while I was serving his food up and held very firmly to it as if she could partake of it's contents. She's definately going to be ready when she's old enough in a couple more weeks to start eating food herself. Solids will open up a whole new world of flavors, textures, and aromas that I'm certain she'll come to love. Which reminds me.... I need to purchase some spoons again! I don't have any of the baby utensils Corbin & Celeste used anymore. Fortunately I still have some of the sippy cups, plates, and bowls they ate from. I'm also going to need to get a stack of bibs!
As you can see from the pictures, Aislinn has taken to practicing her eating skills by gumming anything she can from blankets to fingers to noses. It wont be much longer now and I look forward to a whole new set of fun with her. We'll have to be very diligent to be sure that nothing small is lying around the house for her to find and experiment eating. Whoa boy!
