Halloween!

Halloween sure was a busy time for us. With 3 parties in 2 days that made for lots of sweets and alot of dressing up. First the kids had their school party on Thursday, then we held our own party for friends on Friday complete with homemade candy apples, popcorn balls, and frankenstein cookies. Then 2 hours later we headed to the church for a party put on by the youth of our church ward. There were donuts-on-a-string, beanbag tosses, cake walks, and a pie eating contest, to which I came in second since someone insisted I join in and took the baby from me.
Then came Halloween day. We traipsed up and down the streets for 2 1/2 hrs until even the kids had decided they had enough candy and were ready to go home. Whew! Am I glad that's over.....
Aislinn wore her little pink teddy bear pram, I reused my witch outfit, Corbin was a homemade robot that his father helped him make out of a cardboard box and aluminum foil, and Celeste was the vampire princess again since her costume still fit.

Just before we went trick-or-treating I realized that with all the parties we had been too busy and tired to carve our pumpkins! So last minute we did that and put them out before going out. Corbin stood out on the edge of the driveway handing out candy while we finished getting ready, then we walked down the sidewalk giving as much away as we could. I think we got back as much as we gave away, which was two big bowls full. That ought to last us a year! Yay for freezers to store and save them in.
